Michaela brings experience in strategic communications, issues management and advocacy campaigning to Tusk’s clients.

She joined Tusk Ventures from Nestlé, where she managed corporate and crisis communications in the U.S. She was responsible for overseeing and growing the company’s digital strategy and worked directly with the Public Affairs team to build strategic partnerships and expand the company’s Creating Shared Value work in the areas of water, rural development and nutrition.

Prior to joining Nestlé, Michaela led strategic communications at The ONE Campaign, Bono’s campaigning and advocacy organization. During her time at ONE she created integrated communication strategies that drove measurable actions in the fight against extreme poverty and preventable disease. These efforts helped to pass legislation despite a polarized U.S. Congress, including the Electrify Africa Act, a public-private initiative to bring electricity to more than 50 million people in sub-Saharan Africa by 2020. Her work took her around the world, campaigning in Africa, Europe and North America. She began her career at Direct Impact in Washington, D.C., Burson-Marsteller’s grassroots communications agency.

A native of Alexandria, Virginia, Michaela is based in New York City and is a graduate of Colgate University, where she double-majored in Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies.
